Ciara Wants To Make You 'Sweat' On One Woman Army

'This is almost like a journal,' she tells MTV News of next album during Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week.

Before she took the stage Wednesday night during Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week with her "That's My Boy" co-stars, R&B-pop princess Ciara hit the pre-show red carpet and revealed details of her much-anticipated new single and album.

"I'm so excited about this new record. I'll tell you guys because I love you guys so much, and what would it be without MTV?" Ciara told MTV News on the carpet. "My new album, I'm almost finished with it, and the album title is called One Woman Army."

Army will be the "Goodies" singer's first album at her new label home of Epic Records.

Ciara parted ways with Jive Records in early 2011 following a falling-out over the promotion and support of her last effort, 2010's Basic Instinct, which peaked at #44 on the Billboard albums chart after her first three LPs all enjoyed top-three debuts. She was not without a label for long, signing up to join L.A. Reid's Epic just a few months later. It was Reid who signed Ciara to her first record deal in 2003.

For her part, the pop star seems to be moving in a new direction with Army, calling the album "very, very personal" and saying she "darn near cried" while writing many of the songs.

"This is the most vulnerable I've ever been in my life and career. And I'm so confident with being vulnerable. At one point in time, I was very afraid to be as vulnerable as I am," Ciara said. "This is almost like a journal, my own personal journal when you get this record."

But fans of Ciara's dance-heavy catalog shouldn't fear: The singer assured us there will be plenty of uptempo tracks, including the lead single, "Sweat."

"It's only right that I let you know this too, another bean, that my new single, my first single, is coming. It could be coming anytime soon, and it's called 'Sweat,' " Ciara continued. "I just love to make you sweat in all kinds of ways."

"That's My Boy," which hits theaters June 15, followed a never-before-seen clip from "Snow White and the Huntsman" as part of MTV's Sneak Peek Week festivities, which will also include exclusive first looks at "Magic Mike" tonight (May 31) and "Rock of Ages" on Friday (June 1), as well as live nightly chats with the casts of each film. Position Description? Title: Program Director, Interior Design / Interior Architecture Job purpose: To provide leadership in teaching, curriculum development and research in Interior Design/Architecture. This may include unit coordination, development of programs of study, a role in planning or committee work, preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars and supervision of staff. Assist in maintaining general school discipline and the overall operational stability, integrity, and professional image of the School. 8. Plan and organize examination by coordinating with SAS (Student Academic Services) department on all the resources necessary for good standard examinations to be carried out. To up keep the professional standard for examination in our College(s). 9. Monitor and enforce teachers attendance and punctuality. 10. Counsel individual students regarding attendance, punctuality, academic progress, professional development, and behavior as required and in cooperation with the Administration & Student Services Manager, Academic Director, and College Director. 11. Counsel individual students on student requests and complaints related to Academic Quality and Resources. To coordinate with lecturers on Academic Quality issues. To coordinate with SAS department on Academic Resources issues. 12. Liaise with parents or employers if necessary and appropriate regarding students academic performance and behavior, and provide both informal and formal school reports as required. 13. Lipshaw: Don't Blame Faculty for Legal Education's Problems

I've started working on an essay for a symposium on the future of legal education ... I decided to re-read a work I have cited in the past, Donald A. Sch?n's The Reflective Practitioner: How Professionals Think in Action.?

All professions, in?Sch?n's view, demonstrate this tension between rigor (of research in technical disciplines) and relevance (of the application of knowledge to practice). ... The role of legal academy scholarship in practice falls somewhere in between the role of research in laporscopic surgical practice and the role of research in barbering practice. I will leave others to speculate on precisely where it falls. But in terms of how much pure or applied university-based research we actually need, I have a feeling our profession is closer to barbers than surgeons. ...??

Nevertheless, demonizing law professors in modal schools (the vast majority of which take seriously their obligation to train lawyers for non-academic careers) is like demonizing bankers or CEOs. It scratches an atavistic urge to attribute misfortunate to the gods. ... I don't particularly care for the U.S. tort system and its effect on product and medical costs, but attributing the crisis of legal education to current law professors because they get paid well or write theoretical "law and ..." articles is like attributing defensive medicine to the plaintiffs' medical malpractice bar because of the standard one-third contingent fee. People naturally do what they get measured on and paid well for. ?And it's perfectly legal to boot.

In short, blaming law faculty for responding precisely to the incentives the system creates is understandable but unreflective in its own way. Rather, the current problem is institutional and structural, as Brian Tamanaha, the late Larry Ribstein, Bill Henderson, and others have observed. Because of regulatory and accreditation restraints, almost all schools are similarly modal, so almost every law school, even well down in the lower rankings, consists of faculty with the same career drivers and motivations.

If one's school can't support and doesn't need a Department of Jurisprudence alongside the history, sociology, economics, and philosophy departments, maybe it shouldn't have one. Going that route would take some real cojones, and no doubt create more human candidates for status as gods or demons.

What a surprise! A lawyer denying that the plaintiff's medical malpractice bar has anything to do with the cost of medicine.

In the tobacco litigation, the plaintiff's bar established the legal precedent that a legal industry whose products bear a cost to society, must compensate society for those costs. Since everyone but lawyers knows that litigation is a cost driver in medicine, let's apply that precedent to the plaintiff's bar and establish a 50% surtax on personal injury attorneys fees.

There is a reason that lawyer jokes abound. That reason has nothing to do with the nature of the law per se but with the nature of the lawyer and the training that he or she has received.

The law and, by extension, lawyers are necessary evils. What we actually need is a lot less of both laws and lawyers.
